Description

Yes. The Wern belong to ME. I have been developing them and this character for around 6-7 years. There are still a lot of bugs to work out and it'll be confusing because he isn't my main character. It'll take me awhile in order to get the full story put together but I can't control inspiration and what Ill draw next. Aebru just happened to be the first creature I drew from this story, so he's the first to be introduced. So...yeah. Just be patient. And Ill probably be editing this A LOT, adding or subtracting stuff or changing it completely, so you'll just have to put up with me!

Common name: Wern
Aebru: Haranaze Wern
Class: Mammalia (mammal)
Order: Cadnivora (carnivorous)
Family: Aerios Canidae (carnivore of the sky)
Genus and Species: Alavulpes variegata (winged fox of many colors)

Kith- close friend...like family only not. (its a real word...i didn't make this one up)
Haran-another creature species in the making that are human-like and well...for now, just know they exist.
Haranze- Specific type of Haran. They are healers and ALWAYS female.

In General: Wern are mammals, being covered in fur and producing milk for their young, but they are hatched from eggs. When hatched, the infants rely upon their parents. Depending on the Wern, they stay with their parents for several years or for only a few days. Those that leave within a few days leave their parents to seek a Haran, and those that remain with their parents stay to learn from them and live life in the wild. The Wern are closely related to the fennec fox in that they resemble its size and body shape. There are several important differences however. Wern have hollow fangs which are used to secrete poison into their enemies. Wern have control over how much poison is secreted when they bite, but the poison is extremely painful no matter what amount one recieves, and it doesn't take much to kill. It is their greatest weapon due to being so small. The venom does not harm their kith because Haranze are especially good at developing antidotes for poisons, and all Haran develop immunities to poisons very quickly. The tail of the Wern differs with each species, depending on what it is needed for. But each species of Wern has wings in some shape or form. That is why they are often referred to as the Winged Foxes or Carnivores of the Sky among other nicknames. Each species of Wern is attributed for different living conditions depending on their location and the specifics for each species will be given along with its picture. These creatures are exceptionally intelligent, being able to communicate several different ways, including their own species language, a general language spoken between the different species, the language of their Haran, and telepathically.

Haran and Wern evolved to become one community. They are peaceful and loving species, respecting one another, and they are both powerful and protective as well. What happens is when a Haran is born, he or she is matched up with a Wern at a young age and they remain together for life. It is not an assigned companionship. The Wern and Haran choose one another, though there is no scientific reasoning for this miraculous happening. They simply know they are to be kith for the moment they see one another and on. Every Haran recieves a Wern, but not all Wern wish to live with Haran. They are inseperable, doing everything together and for one another. Growing up and living life. Wern are exceptionally loyal to their Haran. If betrayed, a Wern would simply die. They would not be able to handle such an event. If their Haran were to be their best friend, as he or she should, but die before the Wern, it would go on living a good life, mourning for the loss of its friend, but rejoicing for having had the opportunity to know him or her as long as he or she did. It is the same way for the Haran, except he or she would not die if betrayed by his or her Wern. It would be a devastating blow however. In both cases, neither would aquire another Haran or Wern. That friendship can never be replaced or filled by another for as long as the remaining kith lives.

When it comes to finding a mate, they do what any normal creature would do. They are attracted to members of the opposite sex and pursue those feelings. If its love, they become mates for life. Wern with a Haran kith will often times leave their haran for as long as it takes to find a mate out in the wild. The wild wern then comes and lives in the Haran-wern lifestyle. Sometimes, a haran will aquire a mate and their wern will fall in love and become mates as well.

Now, I introduce to you the Haranze Wern.

Haranze Wern: The egg of a Haranze Wern is very distinct, it having a shell of constantly swirling colors. Unlike other Wern, when Haranze wern hatch, they are capable of fending for themselves and do not rely upon their parents for anything. They are already able to hunt for their food and protect themselves and their kith if needed. Their claws and teeth are fully developed, along with venom. Haranze Wern have a coat of many colors...when they are visible. These wern are masters of disguise, able to blend into their surroundings perfectly when they wish to. When they wish to be seen however, their coat is a blend of many different colors. Their wings are large and white, but also give off many colors if seen in the right lighting. Their tails are thin and the end has a patch of feathers that cover several small hollow spines which are used to secrete a healing fluid into those who have been injured or fall ill. It is a strange substance that can be used for various injuries, the cells that make up this fluid somehow knowing to adapt to whatever injury or illness they come across. Because they are so well adapted for healing, these Wern are given to Haranze specifically, hence the name Haranze Wern.

The hatching of Haranze Wern is slightly different than other Wern because they are taken to the mother of a future Haranze before either are born. The mother cares for both her fetus and the egg until it is time for her to give birth. She takes the egg with her, and by some unexplainable phenomenon, the egg hatches simultaneously with the birth. The two know eachother before ever seeing one another. In doing this, the relationship begins long before birth and will be stronger.

Both Haranze and their Wern are rare and coveted. They have many powers which are not exhibited, and their relationship seems to be the strongest because they live their lives to help others. These Wern go beyond most others in their ability to communicate because they can actually speak words through their mind rather than simple feelings, as well as send pictures to their Kith. They also share many of the same characteristics as Haranze, which again cannot be explained by science. Somehow, they have found a way to adapt in order to best serve their kith.
